“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

A dozen or so members of Christ Methodist Church are heading to the Bidi Bidi Refugee Resettlement Camp in Uganda for around 10 days at the beginning of August. They will engage in a variety of activities including vocational training in farming, community service projects, and evangelistic outreach. On top of the nearly 200,000 residents, mostly who have fled from war in South Sudan, in a place the size of Orlando, the travelers will also be among the Aringa, an unreached people group.

Prayers are requested for believers working to spread the Gospel among the Aringa, as well as for God’s guidance for Ruth Lomo and her staff. This initiative aims to support and uplift the refugee community in Bidi Bidi and foster positive relationships with the Aringa landowners. Prayers for Ebenezer Global in the work they are doing to form relationships.

I took most of this information from the website from the church linked above. I’m excited for the participants to see God at work, and participate in it. I pray for boldness in proclaiming the Gospel, doing so led by the Holy Spirit, and with a kind heart. May this be transformative work, for those going, those receiving, and our congregation upon return. May our hearts swell for those who don’t know Christ, and may we be encouraged by the love and courage of our fellow congregants doing what we are called to do. Lord, we lift the group up for protection form the adversary. Lord, we pray for the residents of Bidi Bidi, that they come to know You, and I lean on the Holy Spirit because I confess I don’t know how to pray for them. Grant them acces to clean water and meals each day. May they have hope in a broken world. Bless the travel and time in Bidi Bidi. In Christ’s name we pray, amen.
