Still a Child

Train up a child in the way he should go,
[a]And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

Lord, may we seek you with our whole hearts. Prevent us from forgetting and shunning our responsibilities as parents. May we draw strength form the Father to be mothers and fathers. Break our addiction to our phones, work, self-importance, so that we may raise up and lead children of God.

Work in us Lord, that we recognize our shortcomings and bring them to You. We cannot raise strong children if we don’t come to You for strength. Lord, this world is broken. You have loved us and yet we ignore You. Call us to Your word. Imprint it on our hearts. Renew our mind and spirit so that we abide in You.

Lord, open our eyes to those willing to help us. Sometimes we don’t stop long enough to see who’s waiting for us. Other times we push away those who bring Your light because we have lost our trust in others. Grant us discernment when You set divine appointments.

Remind us Lord of Your promises. You are a good good Father. That’s who You are. In Christ’s name, amen.
