In that day they will say,
“Surely this is our God;
we trusted in him, and he saved us.
This is the Lord, we trusted in him;
let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.” – Isaiah 25:9
Lord, when the world burns, we call on You. Forgive us for our ignorance during peaceful times. Each day is a battle that we often don’t know we are fighting.
Lord, we lift up the city of Memphis to You. Forgive us for our sins. May Your people call upon you and be heard. We pray for our judicial commissioners. We pray that they show up. We pray that they use Your wisdom and call on You for discernment.
We lift up John Marshall, Robert Barber, Rhonda Harris, Kevin Reed, Christopher Ingram, Shayla Purifoy, Ross Sampson, Serena Gray, Terita Hewlett, Mischelle Best, Kenya Smith, Zayid Saleem, Kathy Kirk Johnson, and Leslie Monzingo to You Lord. Protect them in their roles. Lord, grant them the authority to keep the wicked locked up until the court system can adjudicate the case. Lord, may our juveniles choose righteousness over evil. Lord, may our leaders not be handcuffed in their discipline.
We are a fallen people since Adam and Eve, yet we know You Lord. Redeem our community. Bless our neighbors. Work in our own hearts that we may light in the darkness. In Christ’s name, Amen.
