Help Wanted

16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. – Hebrews 4:16

Many schools remained closed today and the boil water advisory is still in effect. From the MLGW website, “Over the past week MLGW has located and repaired more than 56 broken water mains, responded to more than 4,000 customers, residential and commercial, that reported broken pipes and shut off nearly 100 fire suppression systems to keep them from bursting or to help limit the damage from already broken pipes.”

Thankfully, the roads are improving and temperatures are ablve freezing.

Lord, tonight we lift up the MLGW crews working to fix our water lines. We pray that they are able to identify the issues and fix them quickly. We pray for endurance and stamina for the men and women working around the clock to solve the issue. We pray for leadership, Doug McGowen, and others, to make wise decisions in allocating resources.

Lord, we lift up our neighbors who are in need. May we be Your hands and feet, our baskets overflowing with Your provision for them. Lord, may we open ourselves up to the cries of those suffering, that we may offer some respite. Lord, thank you for those reaching the people, like the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity men who made soup this past weekend.

COntinue to melt this ice Lord and restore functionality to these utilities. May we be better prepared for the next winter storm based on lessons learned this week. We pray for the restaurants, that they may recover lost income by folks celebrating the ability to leave their home.

Lord, bless this town. In Christ’s name, Amen.
