Goodnight Memphis

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day – Genesis 1:3-5

Order our of chaos. Day 1 was creating a day, separating the day and the night. God’s creation was good, is good. And the night, as His creation is also good.

We see the stars at night. We call it gazing at the heavens. We reflect on our insignificance, and are thankful that, through Christ, we are, in fact, significant to our Creator.

Our God is an awesome God. Too often in Memphis, our nights consist of violence and sin, but that’s not because of night. Night is for dreaming, to hear the silence, to seek God. I pray this night that He comes close to You. Amen.
