Beware of the scribes, because they for a pretense make long prayers. Their relationship with God was far more show than substance. The scribes thought they were more spiritual because of their long prayers. But G. Campbell Morgan wrote that when a man is away from his wife and the journey is short, the letters are short. The farther he is from his wife, the longer the letters become. Lord, may our simple prayers reach You. We pray for a renewed heart in Memphis and a redeemed people. Bless this town. Give strength to Your children. May You use them to defeat darkness in our community.
Lord, we pray that those without power have it restored soon. We pray for those at risk of health issues from this high heat find shelter during the day. We pray that our law enforcement and judicial systems find a way to protect our city that is just in Your eyes. Lord, we pray for the judges and attorneys to seek Your guidance. Don’t let evil get away. Vengeance is Yours.
