15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”[a] 1 Peter 1:15-16
Father, tonight we lift up the people of Memphis. We confess our sins, of lust, of selfishness, of vulgarity, of disobedience, of greed. We seek our own comfort. We tread on each other. We harm each other.
That’s not who You called us to be. For those of us who know You, may You work in our hearts, cleansing us form the inside out. For those who don’t know You, may they see the works of Your children and come to know You. Lord, we ask that you lead us not into temptation and that You deliver us from evil, for Memphis is part of thy kingdom, and we wait expectantly for Your arrival. In Christ’s name, Amen.
